Hi there, I'm Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
Several years back, I moved here with my family; what began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Everyday chores seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines emerged. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Warm Brook Home
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in Switzerland.
